Gundam 00 Episode 20

Char’s Exia?

What is it with Gundams and red Char colors?

Episode 20 is good. Last time Lockon took a hit meant for Virtue and got injured. The UN and the world is serious about eliminating the Gundams. In this episode we see the Throne Gundams are essentially wiped out and Veda is completely compromised.

The result of this is that the real Gundams from Celestial Being (not the Throne knock offs) were unlocked. Setsuna drives the new Gundam like Cloud Strife at the end of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. All that is missing is a Sephiroth like character and the scene would be complete.

The action is getting good. With only one Trinity Gundam pilot left alive, I wonder how Celestial Being will re-group?

Last time Microsoft encourages feedback

I saw this while wasting time on Reddit: “They Criticized Vista. And They Should Know.” Microsoft really did bork the release of Vista but so what? For mass consumers they are the only game in town. They can suck as much as they want.

Playing with WordPress 2.5 beta

I keep a SVN based copy of the new WordPress 2.5-beta1 for playing with. I’m doing this because at sometime the version I’m running 2.3.x might not be supported for patches. Going from 2.2 to 2.3 was a no brainer, tags are a huge difference. 2.5 might not get me to jump for a while.

On the outside I can’t see much reason for not converting. Some of my plugins don’t work but that ought to be resolved by the time 2.5 is released. If the performance is improved then that’s a good reason right there.

What will get me to hold off is the little things. I dislike the new interface. The 2.3.x shows it’s age meaning that it is well thought out and is missing some pet peeves from 1.5 or 2.0. Version 2.5 feels like they are trying to get to “Web 2.0” and are not making it. The organization is odd after using WordPress for a couple of years. The widget interface is downright counter intuitive for me.

I’ll keep using 2.3.x for a while and just see how 2.5 turns out.

Iranian dowry laws?

According to BBC news, this guy needs to pay his wife his promised dowry.

It’s 124,000 roses.

His flat got confiscated until he coughs up the roses. He should see if he can negotiate, oh like, do something else instead.

Like writing on a black board 2,000 times:

“I will not be cheap to my wife.

I will not be cheap to my wife.

I will not be cheap to my wife…”

He should not have ticked her off, the law is on her side.

Health advice from a 6 year old

I caught a bug or stomach virus this week. This morning when I got up to wake the kids, I got taken over by nausea. Nice post I know but bear with me for a moment.

My son goes to the bathroom and says

“Daddy, you should throw up. You’ll feel better if you do.”

Medical advise from a 6 year old. I didn’t hurl but I did call in sick; tummy pains are one thing but 90 minutes to the office could go really bad.

10,000 BC movie is missing something

One Million Years BC poster from Wikipedia I don’t know anything about this movie really, other than if I ever see it, it will be only when it hits cable. I’ve just looked over the trailer and the movie web site looks just fancy enough to not be too slick.

The Wikipedia page says the main character discovers a lost civilization. Can you call a civilization lost when the movie takes place in 10,000 BC?

It looks like it will be good escapism fun. I can’t wait for all the peopl who will insist “That did not happen! The dates are wrong!”. Independence Day was another Roland Emmerich flick and everyone liked that one. The trailer looks like they got the elements for a fun movie.

But quickly looking over the cast I can make one statement:

If you are going to make a movie called 10,000 B.C. then there ought to be a law saying that Raquel Welch MUST appear in at least a cameo.
